Two Pears

Two Pears

I just walked over to the Fort Collins Food Co-op for my week’s supply of essentials: milk, yogurt, apples, dark chocolate…

I held the door for a mother wheeling the widest baby carriage I’ve ever seen – we joked that it was “a 12-wheeler.” Taking in the sights and smells were two kids: one just out of infancy and another almost ready for preschool. A few minutes later, as I was choosing apples, I heard the mom say “Look, pears,” and the thrilled response from the elder of her kids: “Two pears!”

That’s what it’s all about. Multiplied by a few million tiny moments filled with learning and joy in what we’re learning – that’s what makes the Intelligence River flow.
